Choosing the Perfect Stone Profile for Your Leicestershire Home

Leicestershire offers a wide range of architecture, from historic townhouses in places like Market Harborough and Ashby-de-la-Zouch to modern developments and contemporary extensions around Leicester. Choosing the right stone is about finding a slab that suits both your property’s character and your day-to-day needs.

If you are renovating a traditional property, country cottage, or period farmhouse, natural granite is a strong choice. Each slab is unique, with its own mineral patterns, crystalline layers, and veining. Granite makes a distinctive feature in your kitchen and pairs well with original beams, range cookers, and hand-painted cabinets.

If you are planning a contemporary extension, an open-plan layout, or a handleless kitchen with a central island, engineered quartz is a popular option. Quartz offers a consistent colour and design across large work surfaces and breakfast bars. It is non-porous and scratch-resistant, keeping it a practical, low-maintenance pick for busy family homes
Service Commitment

Direct Workshop Coordination and Delivery to the East Midlands

Our main stone fabrication facility and slab showroom are based at Stanford Farm in Biggleswade, but we regularly arrange installations throughout Leicestershire. Our installation teams travel across the region to work with private clients, local builders, and independent trade partners seeking direct value from our workshop.

Practical Answers on Project Timings and Technical Specs

Our team are always on hand to help answer any questions you may have. Read our frequently asked questions, or contact us to have a chat.

Because we handle 100% of the fabrication work inside our own workshop and never rely on third-party suppliers or external processors, we can offer highly reliable turnarounds. Once we have completed the digital laser template visit at your home, we are usually ready to return and install your finished stone worktops within 7 to 10 working days.

Our team specialises in stone fabrication and installation. We will securely fit your worktops, cut precise openings for appliances, and seal undermount sink bowls with high-grade silicone mastic. However, we are not qualified to carry out final gas, electrical, or main plumbing connections. Your new stone surfaces will be left immaculate and level, ready for your local plumber or kitchen fitter to connect waste lines and appliances safely.

Yes, we do this regularly. Our workshop is fully set up for any custom stone specification. Beyond classic kitchen countertops, our masons frequently design and manufacture moisture-locked stone vanity surfaces for master suites, matching splashbacks, durable utility room upstands, and thick, thermal-resistant natural stone hearths tailored to fit traditional living room fireplaces.

It is very straightforward. If you choose engineered quartz, it requires zero specialist maintenance, sealing, or top-up treatments over its lifetime. A quick wipe down with warm water and mild soap is all you need to keep it looking factory-new. Natural granite needs a little bit more care, so we recommend a quick top-up application of stone sealer roughly once a year to keep it fully resistant to everyday oil, coffee, and wine spills. We will run through the right care routine before we leave your home.
