If you are planning a kitchen or bathroom project in Northamptonshire, we can help you achieve a high-quality finish. Passion for Granite is a family-run business specialising in the fabrication and installation of natural granite and engineered quartz worktops. Our main workshop is in Biggleswade, where our team of stonemasons manages every stage, from initial measurement to final polish. We do not outsource or use temporary subcontractors, so your stone is always handled by skilled professionals. By working directly from our own workshop, we avoid retail markups and provide premium stone surfaces at fair, realistic prices.

Choosing Your Surfaces

What Material Works Best for a Northamptonshire Project?

Northamptonshire has an amazing variety of properties. Whether you are renovating a classic stone barn conversion in a quiet village, updating a traditional townhouse in Towcester, or adding a massive modern extension to a home in Kettering, your worktop needs to suit the space.

If your home has plenty of historical character, or if you love traditional interiors, natural granite is hard to beat. Because it is a completely organic material, every single slab comes with its own unique veining, deep crystalline layers, and rich textures. It serves as a stunning natural-feature piece in your home, adding a layer of raw luxury that perfectly complements exposed brickwork, rustic timber beams, and classic hand-painted kitchens.

If your home is more contemporary or if you have a busy family household, engineered quartz is a practical choice. It offers consistent colour and pattern, which is ideal for modern kitchen islands and breakfast bars. Quartz is non-porous and highly stain-resistant, so it copes well with daily use and spills, without the need for special treatments.
Getting the Work Done

From Our Workshop Straight to Your Home

Our main fabrication facility is just over the border in Bedfordshire, but Northamptonshire is part of our regular service area. Our delivery and installation teams regularly travel the A1 and A14 to work with trade studios and private homeowners throughout the county.

We aim to make the renovation process straightforward. Rather than using manual tape measures or wooden templates, we use digital scanning equipment to map your kitchen cabinets. This captures the exact layout of your room, including any uneven walls. We then use this digital template in our workshop for all cutting and polishing, so there is no mess in your home and installation is quick and precise.

Common Project Questions

Our team are always on hand to help answer any questions you may have. Read our frequently asked questions, or contact us to have a chat.

If a kitchen island or a breakfast bar layout is larger than a standard single raw slab of stone (which usually tops out around 3 meters), a join will be necessary. However, our stonemasons are experts at pattern matching. We cut consecutive slabs from the exact same block of stone so that the pattern or veining flows naturally across the seam. We then bond the joint using custom-blended, colour-matched epoxy resins to make the join as discreet and level as possible.

Our team are strictly stone fabrication and installation specialists. While we will securely position your worktops, cut the precise openings for your hobs, and cleanly seal your undermount sink bowls into place with professional silicone mastic, we cannot carry out the final gas, electrical, or primary plumbing connections. We leave your stone completely immaculate and perfectly level so that your qualified local plumber or kitchen fitter can complete the final utility hookups safely.

Absolutely. While kitchen worktops are our bread and butter, our workshop regularly manufactures all kinds of custom architectural stonework. We frequently cut and install moisture-locked stone vanity tops for family bathrooms, sleek upstands for utility rooms, custom wall cladding, and thermal-resistant natural stone hearths and surrounds for traditional living room fireplaces.

Because we manage 100% of the fabrication work inside our own workshop and do not rely on external suppliers, our turnarounds are very reliable. Once we have completed the digital laser template at your home, we are usually ready to return and install your finished stone worktops within 7 to 10 working days.
